The world's largest wind turbine was built in Japan

Test trials of the largest and most powerful wind turbine in the world started in Fukushima Prefecture. The size of the experimental wind turbine is comparable to the 50-floor skyscraper - its height reaches 190 meters, and the blades have a length of over 80 meters.
According to the developers, the giant is able to provide power for up to 6 thousand apartments.
It is expected that the generator will be installed in the Pacific Ocean 20 kilometers from the coast of Fukushima Prefecture on a special floating platform. The generated electricity will be transfered using a special underwater cable.
